Meli is a loving and gentle dog with a very nice energy level. She loves giving kisses, going for walks, and getting fed. Meli is very food-motivated and does well with treat training. She already knows "look" and "sit," and is learning "touch" and "leave it". Meli is house-trained. She loves to have her ears scratched and lie on the carpet near you. Meli is a quiet presence in her foster home because she rarely barks. She can be left un-crated in the house because she doesn't chew on items. However, she is a counter-surfer and tries to get into the trash. Meli is generally submissive to the other dogs in her foster home but sometimes she can be pushy about grabbing treats or affection, which can annoy some dogs. She would do well with laid-back dogs who don't get jealous about resources. It is unknown how she interacts with cats. Meli plays happily with stuffed toys by herself. She can jump a 4' wall, but usually stays in the yard, especially if she is outside with other dogs or people. Meli is a star on walks - she trots happily beside you and is not reactive to other dogs or strangers. She has taught herself to sit for a treat at stop lights and street crossings Meli's adoption fee of $125.00 includes her microchip, spay and current DHPP and Rabies vaccine.
