Fergus is a 6 month old sturdy terrier mix who is looking for his forever family. Is it you? Are you a fan of the scruff? Are beards and brow your thing? Are you looking for a very friendly dog who wants to be a part of all of your family activities? Do you like to hike, walk, run...and maybe parkour? Do you wear socks? Fergus loves socks!

Fergus may be shy at a first meeting, but once he knows you, he will be your loyal companion. Fergus wants to be physically close to his people. He has a great smile which he will try to dazzle you with immediately after stealing your shoes. Fergus may have some separation anxiety. He would do best in a home where someone is around quite a bit. He would not do well being crated for lengthy periods of time - though he does fine in a crate at bedtime. He is house trained and currently sleeps in his foster parents' bedroom with access to his crate at his discretion. He has quite a loud bark and will use it when he is seeking attention.

He is very nimble and needs to learn some furniture manners. He thinks nothing of leaping over couches and standing on coffee tables. If you are interested in a dog that would like to do agility training, he's your guy. Fergus likes playing with other dogs; he has not been tested with cats. He is not an alpha dog! He is currently living with 6 other dogs of all sizes and he gets along great with everyone. Fergus would do well with children too.

He is not a huge shedder, and will require some grooming. Fergus is long and low to the ground with short legs that do not stop him from doing the most excellent of zoomies. He can be startled by new noises. He heard an owl when he first arrived in foster care and ran at "Fergus-force" straight through our screen door. He seeks comfort from his people, and his confidence has grown while in foster care. This guy is a gem.

Fergus was an owner surrender and they indicated he's a German Shepherd.  We have him listed as a terrier because that is what he looks like but wanted to share the information we were given.

Feegus' adoption fee of $220.00 includes microchip, alter (spay or neuter), DHPP series and Rabies vaccine.

Not included in the adoption fee is county license or microchip registration.

We always recommend training classes.

Puppy will need potty training as well as basic puppy training. We strongly recommend basic puppy training group classes as it helps build bonds between the adopter and puppy as well as sets boundaries and establishes good patterns for life time commitment.
