Sierra Nevada has had a rough start to her young life, but you wouldn't know it when you meet her. She is an exuberant, happy little dog who loves everyone that she meets. She was brought into PACC on New Year's Eve with a severely injured leg after being hit by a car. Sierra Nevada was treated for a month with pain meds before a PACC volunteer found her in a kennel and alerted rescues of her urgent situation. AOA pulled her and she was sent to our vet Dr. Figueroa, who amputated her leg. She has made a remarkable recovery and is ready to find her forever family. Having only 3 legs certainly doesn't slow this girl down, she can run and wrestle with her foster sibling and loves to chase her toys. She is house trained and crate trained and rides well in the car. She will walk nicely on leash, but probably isn't cut out for really long hikes or running marathons. She is a bit too curious about the resident cats in her foster home, she thinks they are for chasing, so a cat free home would be best for her. More than anything, Sierra just wants to be by her family's side. Sharing snuggles on the couch or sleeping by your side is what this sweet, beautiful girl wants and deserves. So, although her story started out as sad, hurting and lonely, with the help of AOA and the promise of a new family, she will have the perfect new beginning and a happy ever after.
