***TRAINING COMMITMENT REQUIRED FOR ADOPTION*** Sarah is such a character. She stayed in rescue longer than her siblings because she has Rickets. Her legs have straightened out nicely. There is no way for us to know the long-term effects of her rickets, though we can tell you it never slowed her down.
Sarah enjoyed the extra time with her mom. She has been working on kennel training, potty training, sit, and walking nice on a leash. In December her dog socializing went through the roof when her foster mom did vacation care for three other litters. This really helped Sarah work on being friendly with new animals.
At home Sarah is the Queen of her Castle. She's confident, playful, mischievous, and loving. She loves to roll in the dirt, stomp in the mud, and nap on the grass or on one of the outside dog beds. When Sarah is inside she has age appropriate behaviors and is surprisingly good at not chewing inappropriate things. Sarah sometimes sleeps in her kennel at night, though she prefers to sleep with the foster humans or even on the sofa with her mom.
Now that she's finished her distemper/parvo series she is beginning to explore the world starting with hiking. At first she was very leery and had to be carried a little but luckily she's compact and smaller than a toddler. Once her new dog friend showed her the way, Sarah cautiously accepted the trail and all of the new things that came with it; dogs, people with walking sticks, and horses!
Sarah is a fabulous puppy and someone will be very lucky to adopt her. Before applying please look up her breed and learn about Miniature Bull Terriers. They are as smart as they are stubborn, and love deeper than people can imagine. Please also check out the training requirements. Her mother is a miniature Bull Terrier, father is unkown. A picture of her mom is in her profile pictures. More about SarahGood with Dogs, Good with Kids Special Needs: Puppy will need potty training as well as basic puppy training. We strongly recommend basic puppy training group classes as it helps build bonds between the adopter and puppy as well as sets boundaries and establishes good patterns for life time commitment.
