About Whitey

  • General Color: White
  • Current Size: 5 Pounds
  • Current Age: 7 Years 6 Months (best estimate)
  • Housetrained: Yes

A “guardian angel” found Whitey on the street on Christmas Eve. All five pounds of him was dirty, matted, impossibly skinny and scared. She cleaned him up and when he came to his foster home, he was quick to come out of his shell and show us...how annoying an unaltered male in his prime can be! Soon after his alteration however, he became a calm and nobel small companion--with a puppy side (he’s so cute chasing ball; his favorite game.) Basically he is a loveable, scruffy peanut, has a great personality and gets along with all respectful kids and animals. He is very good in the kennel (his safe place) and sleeps overnight there silently. He is not yippy. He doesn't get up on furniture and he sheds very little. He is quite well house trained, but he can be destructive with things left at his height. He's making quick progress walking on a leash. Whitey is also getting better at coming when called, but like most fox terriers, he likes to explore and will get lost if given the chance.

Whitey has built confidence with us, but it can be a challenge for him to build confidence with new people. He will need his forever family to give him space, be gentle and patient. Otherwise, Whitey may be fearful at first, causing him to growl or nip. His new people will need not to rush him, but rather, should spend time simply letting Whitey gain comfort in their calm, assertive energy. Anyone who takes their time to build a relationship of trust with Whitey will find a special place in a special dog’s heart.

Whitey's adoption fee of $200.00 includes his microchip, neuter and current DHPP and Rabies vaccine. Pacc license and microchip registration not included in the adoption fee.
