Tess is such a fun dog. She is a ball of non stop energy and loves to play (as you can see from her photos it's always a good time to play). She has done great with every dog she meets. Initially she is scared of larger dogs but once she realizes they don't post a threat it's leashes off and party time. Tess is kennel trained, but prefers to sleep in bed with her human. She is excellent at going to the door when she needs to go potty. She does walk on a leash and just needs help fine tuning her full loose leash walking abilities.
Tess is excellent in the car and once she learns to stop begging she'll make an excellent dinning companion at one of Tucson's many pet friendly restaurants.
Tess had such a great personality. She's pretty go with the flow and had one of those nobody is a stranger personalities...well except the mailman and UPS drivers they are strangers that she protects us from by barking. She is submissive when playing with the other dogs so please, if your dog is a bully please don't apply for her. Her dog family should be easy going and love to play. Tess is great with older kids. She is a puppy learning not to jump so families with toddlers, elderly, or people with balance issues should keep on looking, she is not the one for you.
Tess can climb fences so it is recommended that her home has a fence with a minimum height of 5 feet. She climbs out of the yard to follow school kids on their way to school or to the bus stop. She does not get out of the blocked in wall with a more appropriate height in the back of her foster home.
Tess be an amazing adult when grown, however, the adopters will be the one who will need to continue to train and encourage positive behaviour. Puppies are wonderful, but they require time and effort on the pet parents behalf to become wonderful adults. By adopting a puppy you are making a commitment for the life of the puppy, not just while the puppy is a chubby baby. Please take this comitement as seriously as we do.
Tess's adoptionfee of $200.00 includes microchip, alter (spay/neuter), DHPP series and Rabies vaccine.
We always recommend training classes.
