Phoebe is strictly an indoor cat.

Phoebe is one of four kittens who came into rescue at a very young age with significant burns. Phoebe’s burns were isolated to her paws (all of them) and, though significant, they were the least severe of the four kittens. Her injuries have healed nicely, however, the burns did result in loss of toes and altered many of her nail beds causing paw deformities. Because of this, Phoebe is considered a special needs kitten and her adopters will need to be able to provide her with a strictly indoor forever home.

Phoebe is strong, independent, and determined. She’s been that way since the moment she came into our foster home…despite her injuries, the trauma, and the pain of healing both of those types of wounds. She’s a social kitten who follows her humans around from room-to-room, happy to just be in the same space. She’s vocal AND chatty, always letting us know she’s near, and responding when we talk to her. Watching her ”talk” never ceases to make us smile. Her entire face plays a role in every meow which makes all of her vocalizations a joy to hear AND see.

Phoebe is curious and confident. She does all the things kittens do, but she’s mature at the same time, like she’s an old soul. She is the first to explore something new and acclimates to those changes and experiences quickly.

The one thing Phoebe isn’t fond of is being picked up and carried around. In fact, none of the four kittens like it. But, that doesn’t impact Phoebe’s love of lap snuggles (especially when sleepy), pets, or scratches (she’ll take the later two any, and every, time you offer). Unlike some of her siblings, Phoebe DOES have the ability to run, jump, and climb and she loves making her way onto chairs, couches, window sills, and the tallest part of the cat-tree.

Phoebe lives in a foster home with her siblings, adults (women and men), tween-age children, adult cats, and older, large-breed adult dogs. All humans and animals in this home interact respectfully with Phoebe, and honor her boundaries. The people and animals in her forever home will need to do the same.

An adoption fee of $125.00 includes sterilization (spay or neuter), microchip, FIV and FLV test (group test), and current Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate).
