Sasha came to her foster home from PACC. She had been turned in by her previous owner when she was just days from delivering puppies. The pups arrived October 1, 2011 and Sasha took good care of them, in spite of her unfamiliar and noisy surroundings. She stayed with them for seven weeks, but the ordeal took its toll. She stopped eating and became dangerously thin. After watching Sasha’s health decline for weeks, her foster mom couldn’t stand it anymore and asked AOA to help her get this sad girl out of PACC before she died of starvation. The puppies were healthy and picked up by a different rescue group.

Sasha came home to a family used to rescuing small dogs. She was met by a pack of six small dogs and there wasn’t one complaint from anybody. Even though she was in need of lots of food, there was no food aggression. She is housebroken and taps on the door to let you know when she needs to go out or come in. She has been gentle with the foster’s son, age 10, as well as lots of the neighbor kids, whose ages run from 5 to 13.

Sasha is approximately 50 pounds; a medium sized American Pit Bull Terrier. We think she is about 2 years old. She needs someone able to run and play with her. She likes to play Frisbee, but about every third throw she picks it up and runs away with it, just to make sure you are paying attention. She is going to be easy to train, as she stays focused on her people and responds well to praise alone. If you want to accelerate lessons, she’s big on cookies, too!
