Josie's adoption fee of $150.00 includes her microchip, spay and current DHPP and Rabies vaccine. An $11.00 license transfer fee will be collected at time of adoption. Josie is a special little girl that needs someone to love, teach and cherish her and in return she will give you the sweetest, kindest, companionship and loyalty you can imagine. Are you missing something special in your life? Josie is a small (22 pounds) little girl who appears to have had some bad human experiences in her little life. She is scared and suspicious of people and has a shy, quiet nature in general but with love and patience she could be the best thing in your life. She has certainly become a favorite of mine, I am her foster mom and she is devoted and affectionate with me because she has come to trust me. Earning her trust is not easy, but it sure has rewards in huge abundance. Are you up for earning her love and devotion? If you have other dogs that are part of your family that will treat Josie well, thats another plus. Josie is great with other dogs. She is kind, patient, and plays politely without being too rough. She currently lives with 4 other dogs and a cat in her foster home and she fits in well with all of them. But she is not very good about standing up for herself if the dogs play too rough so it would be best to not have her with a dog that likes to play rough. She prefers to play gently and she has even started showing some interest in small bouncy balls. She is leash trained and walks very well on a leash, no pulling, no going crazy when she sees other dogs or people. But she is NOT good with kids so I never let kids approach her when I walk her. She seems especially afraid of small children. She is also crate trained and for her safety a crate is required for her for when she is left alone until she feels safe and secure over a period of weeks. She is also house trained and currently uses a dog door. As quiet and fearful as she is she is a fierce protector of her home when she has established it is her home. When someone tries to come through my gate or into my house without me there she means business with her teeth bared and her warning bark. She WILL NOT hesitate to try and bite intruders even though she is small. She seems to think she is 100 pounds of massive force in the face of an intruder. Of course she is not, she is a little dog and people might not take her seriously because of her size and get bit as result so knowing this about her is important. But, if I let people in she is okay and will just avoid the new people. Josie would do best in a relatively quiet home with one or two adults that are willing to help her regain her trust in people. Another dog to play with would also be okay but not a requirement. A cat is optional. The only thing that interests her about the cat she currently lives with is trying to find her way to the cat food. Once you get to know her, and she decides to give you her heart and devotion, Josie is a special girl for a special person. She is full of love to give she just needs to know that her love will be reciprocated and she is safe in that love. |
