Not much is known about Rogue. Not even her exact age; what we do know is she is young. She is young and has not had the greatest start to life. Covered in mats, ticks and fleas, Rogue was found running around a trailer park with three other dogs and a boatload of puppies. Rogue herself was pregnant and brought into a foster home to have a safe home to raise her puppies. It took lots of time for Rogue to become fully comfortable in a home. She didn’t understand what it meant to be loved, and she was terrified of everything. With lots of care Rogue has opened up and learned what its like to love and be loved…but she still is very scared and needs a loving, patient person who will help her with her fears.Rogue still refuses to walk on a leash, but once trusting of you she will gladly walk with you, following by your side. Rogue is terrified of other dogs, and will often lash out. She is not a mean dog, just scared. With lots of slow introductions she slowly became acclimated with a Chihuahua in her foster home. She is still too terrified of the big dogs in the home. She will most likely need a home without other dogs and cats. One other small dog may be ok with proper introductions and the understanding that it will take time for her to become comfortable. Once comfortable, Rogue will love unconditionally and passionately. She is at her happiest when her puppies are by her side and she always has a giant smile on her face. She will be shy and scared of her human at first. After a few weeks a big change will happen. Gone will be the cowering shivering dog and out will come a happy dancing, (yes she really does dance it is the cutest thing!) puppy. She is after all still just a puppy herself, despite being a mother. She is learning and growing into a wonderful dog everyday. She will sleep right by your side and cover you in kisses right before bed. She wants nothing more than to relax and be petted. She loves belly rubs and head scratches. Outside is her favorite place and she loves the smells and sights of nature, but she will never stray too far from you. A short call and she will come running right back up to you, her big ears flopping and her tongue falling everywhere. Around new people she will be nervous, but has never snapped. She has even been around a small child and has not growled or snapped at them but will need her space around children.Rogue needs a patient person, someone willing to work with her faults and give her the time. She is well worth the work; for once she opens up she is a loving, cuddly, loyal friend. Rogue's adoption fee of $150.00 includes her microchip, spay, DHPP series and Rabies vaccine.
